xPeeps Celebrates Four Years with Launch of Mobile Site

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — AEBN social networking community, xPeeps.com announced that it has launched a mobile version of the site for remote connection.

The mobile xPeeps platform is available at m.xPeeps.com and offers a streamlined interface by which members can access the site’s major functions, such as checking or sending messages, according to the company.

The interface has been optimized for use on mobile devices, many of which do not support the intense graphics or resolution needed for full scale sites. Along with messages, members using the mobile site can browse profiles, add “Peeps,” view and comment on photos, and more.

“The site has only continued to grow over four years, and we get our visitors from diverse traffic sources, including mobile,” said xPeeps’s Suzann Knudsen. “As that demand has grown, we felt that we needed to concentrate on giving our increasing mobile audience the accessibility they want. xPeeps now gives you yet another way to expose yourself!”

The company said that since its debut in 2006, xPeeps now has a membership of over one million positioning it as one of the largest adult sites on the internet.

Thousands of stars, studios and directors have joined, and xPeeps has proven to be a great industry resource for making connections. Amateurs seeking a big break and cam girls looking to make their marks have also flocked to the site, taking advantage of features such as the “Casting Couch” and “xPeeps Live” to help make their dreams come true. In 2008, xPeeps began throwing monthly parties in the Los Angeles area, bringing the industry and fans together on a whole new level, the company said.

“Social networking is about being social,” said Knudsen. “There are so many ways to make connections, and we feel that xPeeps helps do that on an adult level that few can match. Mobile integration opens up even more doors for building relationships, both one-on-one and on a larger adult business scale.”

EroticVision.TV Brings Future of Big-Screen Video to XBIZ LA

January 29th, 2010

HOLLYWOOD — Adult video technology provider EroticVision.TV (EVTV) will be conducting a demonstration of its groundbreaking IPTV service at the upcoming XBIZ LA event in Hollywood.

“You bought that big, flat-screen HDTV and sound system for a reason,” states the EroticVision.TV website. “Now you can give them a real workout!”

With that bold statement, EVTV has defined its mission to bring the best in adult entertainment to big-screen televisions, via the Internet and the Roku Digitial Video Player.

According to the company, EVTV allows users to enjoy adult content on their television without hooking a PC directly to it; using the content provider’s existing infrastructure and Internet content delivery systems — creating the interface and “back-office” services that allow the delivery of HD or SD content to the Roku DVP — among other devices and platforms.

EroticVision.TV President and CTO, Michael Osten, is looking forward to the XBIZ LA presentation of his company’s “over-the-top” technology, which could revolutionize the world of media consumption and marketing.

Video direct to the television via the EroticVision.TV system will change the adult video marketplace,” Osten told XBIZ, “and solve the issues of distribution, piracy, obscenity laws, and slumping sales faced by adult media distributors and pay site owners.”

The EroticVision.TV demo is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, at 3 p.m.

sponsornetworks UNC Explores Sexually Explicit Speech, 1st Amendment Rights

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The First Amendment Law Review will host a presentation at the University of North Carolina featuring a roster of prominent free speech advocates and opponents, scholars and activists.

Held in conjunction with UNC’s School of Law, FALR’s eighth annual symposium, entitled Sexually Explicit Speech and the First Amendment, will be held Feb. 18-19.

Slated to kick off the event by delivering the keynote address is Hustler mogul Larry Flynt, who will speak on Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall.

“We cannot underestimate the significance of the 1st Amendment; our freedoms depend on it,” Flynt told XBIZ. “I enjoy it a great deal because I’m speaking to the future leaders of the country. Many of them are very naïve about the significance of free speech.”

The symposium continues at 9 a.m. on Feb. 19 at the UNC School of Law, where the first panel, Issues in Free Speech and Sexually Explicit Content, will feature noted 1st Amendment attorney, Larry Walters, of the Walters Law Group, along with Mary Beth Buchanan, the former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania that prosecuted Extreme Associates, Karen “Red Rose” Fletcher and counterculture comedian Tommy Chong, among others. Joining them will be attorney Jeffrey Douglas and William & Mary Law School professor William W. Van Alstyne as moderator.

“It is an honor to be invited by UNC to participate in this high-level, academic discussion of important 1st Amendment issues relating to erotic content, along with my colleague Jeff Douglas,” Walters told XBIZ. “The inclusion of Mary Beth Buchanan on the panel, as a former federal obscenity prosecutor, will make for some fascinating conversation, given the obviously different viewpoints at play.”

The second panel, Free Speech and Censorship of Sexually Explicit Language, will also be moderated by Van Alstyne, and will feature Free Speech Coalition Executive Director Diane Duke along with Tim Winter, president of the Parents Television Council, and Katharine Bartlett, a professor of law at Duke Law specializing in gender studies.

A third panel will conduct an in-depth discussion of Flynt’s role in free speech and feature Dean of Washington & Lee School of Law, Rodney Smolla, a 1st Amendment scholar and advocate.

Further information is available online from the symposium website.

Jimmy Flynt II’s Flynt Media Corp., which he operates with brother Dustin Flynt, continues to challenge the court-ordered transfer of the domain names because it thinks that the injunction is too broad and not justified. Flynt Media Corp. has asked U.S. District Judge Howard Matz to amend it.

Jimmy Flynt II, in court papers provided to Matz, said that he never used most of the 72 domains in connection with active websites. The only domains that were ever connected to active websites were FlyntDistributions.com, FlyntCorp.com, FlyntNation.com and FlyntInteractive.com.

“I currently have plans to engage in business in the future in nonadult-themed goods and services and wish to use some of the domain names that I have registered in so doing,” Jimmy Flynt II wrote in a declaration to the court.

But Larry Flynt’s attorneys claim that Flynt Media Corp. is only trying to find loopholes in the jury’s award, and that “plaintiffs simply seek to foreclose such potential gamesmanship and to enjoy their well-earned peace in the matter.”

Flynt Media Corp. attorneys argue that the injunction shouldn’t include all of the company’s “Flynt” domain names that do not include the nephews’ first and last names.

They claim that Flynt Media Corp. was never on trial for cybersquatting and point out that some of the domain names can be used for websites that “have nothing to do with adult entertainment and therefore clearly fall out of the scope of the issues in this case.”

Larry Flynt’s attorneys, however, say that Flynt Media Corp. “Flynt-only” names infringe upon or are likely to be confused with Larry Flynt and his companies.

They’ve asked Matz to revisit and carefully word the final permanent injunction so that Flynt Media Corp. doesn’t try to “skirt the edges or play the margins of what is or is not permissible.”

Flynt Media Corp., meanwhile, also is challenging the injunction’s order of the destruction of DVD boxcovers printed for its videos, which apparently the company intends to remarket.

“[Flynt Media Corp.] should be allowed to physically alter any materials to comply with [the injunction], if they so choose,” their attorneys asked Matz. “Alteration may occur, for example, by placing labels in front of the name ‘Flynt’ on the DVD boxcovers with the first names of defendants.

“The requirement to destroy all materials that violate the terms of the order is unwarranted and overly broad.”

The two parties meet in front of Matz at U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.
