ASACP CEO Joan Irvine Interviewed on Adult Marketing Talk

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced that its CEO, Joan Irvine, was recently interviewed by Adult Marketing Talk.

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to online child protection, through its CP Reporting Hotline and Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label.

“The issue of child safety is very important when it comes to marketing an adult company and I am so grateful to Bruce Friedman for this opportunity to discuss how ASACP can help adult businesses,” Irvine said. “ASACP’s Code of Ethics, Best Practices, and Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label clarifies to companies and customers visiting an adult company’s website that they are performing their ‘duty of care’ to be certain that there is no child pornography on the sites and children are not being exposed to age-restricted images.”

Part of its “Webmaster Wednesdays,” Adult Marketing Talk is a show on Radio Dentata. Hosted by CEO of Adult B2B Marketing, Bruce Friedman, the show features weekly marketing tips that help adult businesses improve their marketing, with a weekly interview featuring an industry leader, along with examples of bad marketing.

“I interviewed Joan because she is a true industry leader,” Friedman said. “ASACP does incredible work to help the fight against child pornography as well as keeping children away from adult material.”

DatingGold Offers Affiliates Video ‘Tooltorials’

STOCKTON, Calif. — Adult dating and webcam affiliate program DatingGold has announced the launch of a series of affiliate support videos, dubbed “Tooltorials,” on its official YouTube channel.

The videos, in 720p high-definition, educate affiliates on how to properly customize and implement the various promo tools that are available through DatingGold.com.

“While we offer plenty of written materials on how to implement our promo tools, we still get some affiliates that need some extra help,” affiliate representative Jay Davis said. “These video tutorials will walk our affiliates, step-by-step, through the process on how to utilize the individual tools and thus give them that extra visual aid.”

According to the company, DatingGold Tooltorials are different in that they are not just presented as typical instructional videos, but rather have a professional and upbeat presence designed to both inform and entertain.

“This is something that is not currently being done on this level by anybody else,” said DatingGold VP of sales and marketing, AK. “By giving our affiliates the kind of support for promo tools that they currently can’t get anywhere else, we’re going to start turning the heads of potential affiliates that might not have thought about using DatingGold before.”

XBIZ Awards 2010 Video Coverage Now Live on XBIZ.com

LOS ANGELES — Footage from the 2010 XBIZ Awards, featuring the industry’s hottest stars, is now live on XBIZ.com in four segments along with two photo galleries.

The first video features a very excited Evan Stone, who took home the award for Acting Performance of the Year for “This Ain’t Star Trek.”

“The place is packed,” Stone says. “Everyone has gotten an award that deserves one!”

Set to upbeat techno music, the video also features Shy Love, along with XBIZ People’s Choice winner Tanner Mayes, Male Performer of the Year winner James Deen and New Starlet of the Year Kagney Linn Karter.

Digital Playground’s Riley Steele Opens Up on Howard Stern Show

NEW YORK — Digital Playground contract girl Riley Steele got the full porn star treatment on her visit to the Howard Stern show today.

Dirty D Expects to Be Arrested After 2 Employees Are Charged

TAMPA, Fla. — Dirty D says there’s not much accuracy to claims made by a woman who says she was underage at the time of a Tampa Bay porn shoot in August 2007.

Further, Dirty D says the woman — who goes by the porn pseudonym Kelsey Cummings, among others — has performed in numerous porn shoots with various adult producers “before and after” his shoot, and she even operates a blog that details her interest in working in porn and is married to a performer who has shot gay porn.

“This is not the innocent underaged girl we are talking about,” Dirty D told XBIZ. “She apparently used a fake ID. I have no idea why she’s making these claims.

“At the time, a valid Florida Drivers License was provided to us and the model was over 18 years old. The information on the signed release matched the Florida Drivers License.”

Two men who worked with adult producer Dirty D to help find talent and help produce content were charged Wednesday with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Police charge that the two men — Shawn Chastain and Ryan Jay Holtz — knew that the woman was under 17 when she was asked to perform in August 2007 with a vibrator and give fellatio to “numerous unknown males” who were behind a so-called gloryhole.

Dirty D, who currently is out of the country after visiting the Barcelona Summit adult convention, said that he expects to be arrested and charged upon returning to the U.S.

According to a police report supplied to XBIZ, Chastain and Dirty D were present when Holtz asked the girl if she had her fake ID. Dirty D gave her a release form to sign and said he knew she was only 17, the report said.

Police said the woman was paid $500 for two videos worth of content that was shot at a house and at Fantasy Land Adult Video, an adult theater where the gloryhole production occurred.

At one point during the shoot at Fantasy Land, the woman “exited the booth and noticed a line of unknown adult males awaiting to enter the adjoining booth. Both Chastain and Holtz apparently organized the line. [The woman] became upset but [Dirty D] grabbed her by the arm and took her back to the booth,” the police report said.

“[The woman] was able to get free and call for a ride to leave,” the police report said.

Dirty D denied the allegations by the woman, saying that her statements are “completely false and inflammatory.”

Police were tipped to the case when they received a mailed letter that included copies of the woman in the act of fellatio on the site GloryHolesGirlz.com, according to the police report.

Dirty D operates GloryHoleGirlz.com, GhettoConfession.com, RealOrgasmVideos.com, GangBangHood.com and AlmostFemale.com, and produces and distributes related DVDs. He also owns affiliate program HowIGotRich.com.

Michael Morrison, a spokesman with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, told XBIZ that the investigation is continuing.

Chastain was arrested by Tampa police, and Holtz was arrested by St. Petersburg police Wednesday. Both were released on $20,000 bail.

Meanwhile, Dirty D said that while he’s been out of the country, police served warrants and seized much of his Tampa Bay-based business’ operations.

“I’ve been thrown under the bus,” Dirty D said, “Why? Because they have trashed my business, taking cash, videos and 10 terabytes of data.

“Once the government gets in your business, they kill it.”

PHILADELPHIA — Calling challenges to revised record-keeping rules “fruitless,” government attorneys asked a federal court this week to dismiss the Free Speech Coalition’s suit.

The FSC and 14 other plaintiffs claim in a suit filed last year against the government at U.S. District Court in Philadelphia that the revised 18 U.S.C. § § 2257 and 2257A regulations are unconstitutional, as well as an unfair burden placed to producers to comply with the regulations.

FSC Executive Director Diane Duke told XBIZ on Wednesday that the government’s reply on an FSC motion to continue the case was expected.

“We will have an opportunity to go before the court in March,” she said. “We have a solid case and are extremely hopeful.”

So far, the suit has gained the attention of other groups defending free speech, including the ACLU and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which both will present amicus briefs in the case.

Among other challenges to the FSC’s suit, government attorneys this week said that placing burdens on producers for age-verification requirements “is a form of speech that receives no 1st Amendment protection at all” and that it is a “fact that producers remain free to create, publish, or distribute any images of adults engaged in sexual conduct as long as they adhere to the statutory and regulatory scheme designed to ensure that these performers are adults.”

“Rather than offering a plausible challenge to these requirements, plaintiffs primarily rely on the notion that the government must come forward with new evidence to support requirements that were enacted over two decades ago,” government attorneys wrote.

Government attorneys also honed in on the FSC’s 4th Amendment challenge, over the fact that some plaintiffs operate businesses out of their homes and that records inspections would be burdensome.

“Because plaintiffs do not claim that any inspection has yet occurred, they are limited to a facial 4th Amendment challenge, and their imagined perception of how such inspections might be implemented in their individual circumstances cannot properly be part of the analysis,” government attorneys wrote.

“Plaintiffs cannot claim a reasonable expectation of privacy in these records. Government inspection of these records therefore does not qualify as a ‘search’ subject to 4th Amendment challenge.”

With this week’s request, the U.S. has asked the court to dismiss the FSC’s claim in the suit, as well as for a dismissal of its motion for preliminary injunction over 2257.

Besides the FSC, the plaintiffs attached to the suit include the American Society of Media Photographers, which represents 7,000 members; Barbara Nitke, a teacher at the School of Visual Arts in New York and a commercial photographer; David Steinberg, a photographer and writer of sexual issues; Nina Hartley, a performer and website owner; and Michael Barone, a photographer.

The plaintiffs list also includes Dave Cummings, an adult industry performer who owns numerous websites; Tom Hymes, an adult industry journalist who runs a website; Sinclair Institute, which operates sexual health clinics; gay porn studio Channel 1 Releasing; Barbara Alper, a photographer; Carol Queen, a sexologist and feminist sex educator; Dave Levingston, a photographer; and Betty Dodson and Carlin Ross, who co-host a website.
